Douglas Car Wreck Kills Mother and Son
A head-on collision early Monday morning killed a mother and killed her 4 year old son on Skyview Drive in Douglas County. Lt. Paul Cosper of the Georgia State Patrol said a 1998 Pontiac crossed the center line and struck their 1988 Toyota head-on. Two other passengers in the Toyota were also injured in the crash. The driver of the Pontiac, Natasha Searcy, complained of pain at the scene of the collision and was taken to Wellstar Cobb Hospital via ambulance with minor injuries before being released the same day. The Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate and no charges have yet been filed, pending the outcome of the scene reconstruction. The State Patrol's SCRT team is a highly respected accident reconstruction organization. Depending on the reason the Toyota crossed the center line, it appears the driver may be liable for personal injuries and fatalities caused by this collision.
