Tractor trailer wrecks on I-20 in Cobb County

A tractor trailer wreck, on May 15th, 2009, in Cobb County, Georgia caused a big truck to drop its load of steel  I-beams on I-20 in Cobb County near Riverside Parkway.  The tractor trailer collided with another vehicle during the crash. Cobb County Police reported injuries at the scene.  When massive trucks crash, carrying massive loads at highway speeds a huge amount of energy is released.  This is often magnified substantially when the point of impact is concentrated on a very small area.   It is likely that the injuries are substantially more serious than reported and may cost many thousands of dollars to remedy, not counting the huge cost of property damage. With or without insurance, lives, families, jobs may be damaged resulting from this collision. It is likely that insurance companies will be asked to pay for some of the losses.  Although insurance companies are designed to spread risk they spend an inordinate amount of money trying to avoid paying obligations.
